"Too Schuss" : an entire game created in Xara.

Hello everybody.


First of all I apologise in advance if there are some errors in my language, as I am french graphist and my english is not perfect.


I've been using Xara for quite a moment now... and I finally decided myself to show you a work : the last one I have just achieved.

It is a game that aim to initiate to the practice of ski, in "nearly real pistes" (the pistes are very close to the reality but where "expanded" to fill all the surface of the game) and my client is called Audrey Goncalves, living in Tignes, France, the city of this game too.
I had to create a complete set of files, all done in Xara Xtreme 5 or Designer Pro. It is nearly a 100% Xara work (except a few things in Photoshop to "prettify" the bottom of the basic illustration - but I found, a bit too late, that there were tools in Designer Pro that could do nearly the same : shape builder and shape eraser).

I forgot the rules documents : there are 4 (1 "normal" and 1 "simplified", in 2 languages...)



I like the Xara tool, especially for his velocity (the rendering, but also the ergonomy and the simplicity of the tools, especially compared to illustrator !). Very few critisims to make, and I hope it will go further in the future...

By the way, what does "Too Schuss" mean or refer to? If it stands for "Two Shoes", do French people understand that?

"Schuss" comes from the german language, and we can traduce in us/english by "Fire !". I think "Too Schuss" means going straight and fast !

The name of the game comes from Audrey, the creator of the game and rules :)

Thanks for the explanation but as it still didn't quite make sense I googled a bit. "Too schuss" (tout schuss) seems to be a ski term. As opposed to the zigzagging slalom you go down a hill in a, indeed, straight line and very fast. "Schuss" is German for "shot".

Indeed it is a ski term. Annd it comes from German language, Austrain more precisely... They said "Schuss" to invite the skier to go skiing. I think it was reintroduced in other closed countries.

I didn't know the fact it was opposite to the zizagging slalom, thanks :)
