Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
Project Share http://psabq.org/ is a non-profit company whose mission is providing meals for low income and homeless persons and families.
My Yoga teacher is going to redesign their website and I volunteered to come up with a new logo.
There is no compensation (money) for this but this is a really good organization providing a tremendous service to the community.
I'd love to see what the TalkGraphics community can come up with.

The flat image can be for the ICO or custom bullets.

Good start. Maybe that could be made into a bowl or plate to indicate food.

Re: Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
I think this is a lovely idea for a challenge. So here is my idea, this came to me as I was having coffee and I picked up my cup and a phrase from the 23rd psalm popped into my head "Thy cup runneth over"

Thanks Frances. We are getting some really good ideas here.

I liked the idea of the heart. It can represent many things.
So, here's my contribution.

Re: Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
Of those I've seen so far, Rik's has the right idea as it should not be too deep.
Can we have some guidance as to dimensions, colour palette and usage (ICO, web, stationery).
A brief can be a usage scenario or technically as detailed as you like but something around the organisation's future direction has to be a part of it.

And a 4th which is a take off of #3. More of a blocked format.

Re: Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
Rik - Nice clean design.
Acorn - The primary use will be on the website though I would imagine the logo will also be used on stationery and any printed materials. I would not worry too much about use at this point. Just keep thinking and cranking out designs.
Ron - I like the simpler PS with the smiles. I think it would work better without the plate. Just the smiling PS.
Great ideas, guys.

Simpler version 1 without pie. Wasn't sure about color, so I used the same color as the menu bar on the website. Named colors, so it's easy to change.

BK, I like the left one very much. I would tune the colours to the current site (blue/red) and for the white parts have them as cuttouts so when printed onto coloured stationery or used in different site sections with a coloured background, the logo changes colour. I would have the plate and slice as the ICO.

I had also thought about it, Ron.
So, I will follow your lead and show what the logo looks like on the web page.

Very nice Boy! The hands need a little work, though, IMHO.

Thanks, fellas. I agree, Ron, so I gave it another shot and changed some other things as well.

Re: Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
I really like it. It's not pretentious and is completely in keeping with the organisation.

Re: Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
The hands work much better now.
Thanks everyone.

Re: Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
Thanks guys. I made some new hands because I still was not happy with the old ones.
-
Re: Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
The other hands are better but maybe move each hand outward a bit to make them read faster as hands.
-
Re: Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
I don't like the way the hands now point - the old ones were more natural.
-
Re: Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
Gary, by "the other hands" you mean the old ones, right?
-
Re: Design a Logo for a Non-Profit
yes, they were naturally holding a plate, but the new orientation looks awkward (to me at least).
