I think it's time we had some new challenges so here is one:)
I have given you a blank canvas all set up on an easel what will you create on it? Have fun!

Waiting for the Gesso to dry. ;))
Great submissions all of you!
Rik that's a great blending of the Apple and Windows logos!
Anchor that's cool!
Frank, very clever
Bill, so what are you going to put on there after the Gesso dries? ;))
Frances that is yet to be determined. ;)
Inspiration does not always cooperate with one's plans. :D
I'd love to see some newer members take part in this challenge! This is just for a bit of fun, no need to worry if you think your artwork won't compare. Just join in and have some fun! When I first started using Xara and first began taking part on TG the challenges were for me a great way to explore things that I might not otherwise have tried. Of course some of you experts out there are most welcome too!
It was the smile :D
now what else would I be doing? .. switched to a heavier canvas though as I like a bit of tooth :)
er, .. and in the process lost the easel, darn I know I had it just a minute a go.... :o
@Drwyd: that was one I was not expecting! ;)) You made me look pretty good as the Mona Lisa!
@ Steve: Nice to see some of your cartoon critters! I think you broke the easel as part of it is still stuck to the canvas! When you find the rest you are gonna need some glue! ;))
Hello Frances,
Thanks
I rather like the idea, but already am off on the wrong foot.

For my next picture, the inside of the doghouse. ;)
Peace
James
I love the paint drips James. Surprisingly enough I have been working on a similar idea. I was trying to do a still life for this challenge but I still don't have it finished, so instead I went with another plan but my paint drips aren't as good as the ones James did.

dang, left it out in the rain....
[need to click on it really to see the effect :'(]
;)) great work guys! Steve that water drip effect looks really good, liquid colour?
thanks - liquid colour for distorting the lineart - and a 'bulge effect' for the 'smear' ;)
Hello Larry
Thanks, but I can't take full credit for the drops, they were a plug-in. At least yours were original. ;)
Fun idea... a blank canvas just begs for something to be painted thereupon... I tend to like the whimsical ideas best.
Peace
James
I love the creative ideas we are seeing in this thread, keep em coming!
Ok I thought it was time I did one of these my self but I ripped my canvas ;)) You'll have to wait til I find another!

Cute idea Frances. Be more careful next time.
A self-portrait ?
Attachment 87079
Good one Guy. I hope that is a self portrait of you painting a flower, and not a self portrait of you painting a self portrait. ;))
