Bob,
I got the same thing. I wonder if this is Spam?

Hi
I don't think it's spam the headers show that it does come from a Xara server. Could be name fiddle but the IP address is a Xara server.
I think perhaps that someone was in a hurry to finish for the bank holiday weekend and messed their formats
Was sent at 17.11 UK time.
cheers
Ian

Yup same exact thing here.
Xara.com stuff is usually always nice looking and works well. Made me wonder about this e-mail too.
Nice idea though ..kinda like the XaraXone delivered to my “door”.
Xara Ltd. is working on a new newsletter - and a new section of TG (forum) to go with it. I got the same thing mail, and it looks normal to me - using Outlook Express 6.
Seems to be a problem with the formating? What email client are you using - or perhaps it's a security setting thing? The info. should help the Xara folks narrow that were the problem lies.
I'm using incredimail.
One of the regular email newsletters that go out arrived like that last month too ("Xara X news", 29th March).
Send them for retraining!
(Edit: Risto, I'm using Outlook 2003 SP2)
I forwarded the email to other machines on my network and it ooks the same to me in Outlook express and outlook.
My own system uses Incredimail and that looks strange to me.
It's almost as if they've done in HTML using an external css file.
Ian
look again in your mailboxes they have sent corrected newsletter
Oh yes..Working well now..thanks parahandy!

Nothing new here, probably cause I was naughty..... :(
I pass on a message from Kate Moir:
And she really is leaving the country for a bit, it's not hyperbole. I think poor Kate needs a vacation after a rather stressful day with the newsletter. :)Quote:
Quite right. Problem identified and fixed and we're resending it. Fortunately not too many had gone, but it's not quite how you want to start out a new newsletter! Apologies all round, marketing director leaving the country.
I use an old ver of Netscape which throws up on anything other than plain text - so hot-footed to Xara and the new newsletter is there under News. Interesting item on Istock photo - deal of pics but also mention of Xara in the forums. Tried to find it but eventually gave up due to extreme vols.Quote:

Still have not rec'd the new letter. I probably won't, because I had to open my big mouth and point this out. I'm going to sit in a corner now...
I've only received the defective one, which looked the same in Outlook and my webmail. I'll be looking out for the correct one.
Yes, it is true the first release of the Insider was not quite on the mark.
But the prolem has been addressed as noted and the all new Xara Newsletter is on its way.
I think it is a big improvement, don't you?
Gary
Looked good in outlook express. I enjoyed the news as well. Good idea on featuring a tutorial from the XaraXone as well.
So, how does one arrange to receive this new newsletter, anyway? I used to be on Xara's mailing list, and as far as I know I haven't done anything to be removed from it. I didn't even receive the corrupted version of this newsletter you are all talking about! Got any ideas Antony? I'm feeling a little left out (I'm the sensitive type, doncha know :().
Glen
Sorry Glen,
Your on the Xara outcast list.
Just like me. Seriously tho, I think at sometime in the past you've clicked not to receive Xara mailshots.
I think it's to do with a 'Click to Receive Updates' option sometime in the past.
At one time I used to receive quadruple copies of Xara's mailshots. Now I receive non.
It's just that nobody loves us ;)
Well, Egg, I guess we know who the true Xara "outsiders" are, don't we?
(Oh, goodness; I think I might be descending from sensitive to antisocial.)
Glen
I haven't received the newsletter either...
The newsletter hasn't been sent to everyone yet.. we will roll it out to more members. But you can subscribe at http://www.xara.com/news
I'm going to close this thread now, as the problems have been rectified.
Thanks.
