Many Xara X users have generously allowed us to use their artwork in the past to show off the power of Xara X. Well, we'd like to make an appeal for some more.
But specifically, we're after examples that are more business orientated that you may have done. For example brochures, posters, etc.
This artwork would then be used on our website, and potentially in other formats too.
If you'd like to contribute, please reply attaching your artwork. Of if you'd rather not do that, send me a private message and I'll give details on how you can email me.
Please state that you are okay with us using the artwork for whatever purpose we require.
You will, however, retain copyright of your work; you are not transferring ownership.
Thanks

I sent you an XAR file of recent logo designs. You can scale the images as needed and make whatever kinds of files you need from the vector images.

hi there ...
I've been designing with Xara since it was first launched and it was 'Studio'. I design logo's websites, everything using Xara and obviouly photoshop for a bit of cropping and image manip. and then flash for the animation but 90% of my work is done on Xara ... I am launching my new site in a few weeks and would happy for you to have a look at my work and supply whatever you need, in whatever format you need (erm .. that was a joke, designers injoke maybe).
One of the biggest sites I've designed is NOCHEX in fact was part of the start up team before going back to the old freelance merlarky.
Any how ... drop us an email at logovend@gmail.com and I'll provide you with whatever you want ... I've designed over 30 corportate site ... over 500 logos ... and loads of banners, poster, brochures and all that crap

You should convert your fonts to editable shapes (Arrange > Convert to Editable Shapes) so they don't come out as Times Roman.

My bad, forgot not everyone uses the fonts... When I do "convert to shape" the color dissapears... well I guess you will work this out http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

When I do this it is over 415KB... I can send you several files if you like

That's strange. Just reapply the color. Or copy the color to the clipboard, convert the fonts, then Edit > Paste Attributes.

My Logos
Hi Anthony,
Please take a look at my webpage and see if there are any that you like.
I grant Xara the right to display my logos as long as a link back to my website is included or credit is given. Please give the artists credit when they are used in a printed material. These logos are not to be included in CD clip art.
Can you be more specific on your intended usage?
-
Sheff,
I really like the black and white layouts with the lady's photo in the background. Very sharp.
-
Hi Antony,
My two cents here... go to my website: http://www.lithium-design.com and browse it, you will find my works on websites, logos, printed ads and personal collections; all made up with Xara X and sometimes with Photoshop tweaking. But mainly XX is my work horse.
Cheers

Go to my website, www.alphabeck.co.uk, go to the Logos page and check the Logo Gallery. If there's anything you like there, e-mail me and I'll send you the XAR file.
-
Hi Anthony,
My work humbles by comparison the many of those here but I would be pleased to share a few should you so choose.

and yet another.
If you want to see something different email me: masque@blueyonder.co.uk.
I've never bothered with a web site of my own although some work can be seen here - www.ArtWanted.com/masque - on a rotating basis.
-
Antony,
If you can find anything worthile on my website, you are welcome to it (for use on the Xara X website (not for the clip-art part of the CD.))
A link back and credit is all I would ask for.

You can find some of my freelance stuff at www.gnurf.net in the portfolio section. If you need bigger versions just contact me.

Fascinating illustrations! Do you draw them by hand first, or you use the pen tablet?
-
Thanks!
I usually draw everything in pencil, then scan or photograph the sketch into xara.
I'm a heavy F4 button pusher (shaped editor tool) mainly because I want to control the curves/shapes unto the minutest details - or it also could be that I just can't find where my wacom tablet's pen mouse went!
I find a laser optical mouse quite adequate for drawing though.
Xara seems to be the ONLY illustration tool that makes line drawing and editing fluid and easy. Macromedia Flash comes second with realtime boolean properties.

All the work in my portfolio was done in Xara (except the screenshots http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif). The logos with black borders are the safest to use since they were never purcahsed. Feel free to use any as examples. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Hey Guys, great software and great examples
just thought I would add one of my designs,
this was an original design of mine,
for a retro style t-shirt,
I used Xara X1, to create the retro frame,
combined with Bryce 5 for the landscape generation, and finally Cinema 4D to model the
spaceships,
I have a lot of fun with Xara X1,
it never hinders my speed or creativity,
and a big thank you
to Gary Priester, for your expertise help
with Xara,
this forum and the artists in it are great
and the answers to the questions are very informative,
and I have been learning a lot,
keep up the good work.
I apologize for the quality of the inside
pic, but the original high res tif,
exceeded the space requirement, so it was reduced to a jpeg.
