is there any special way to do these kind of stuffs? or you just trace the bitmap and start playing with nodes?.

Get a picture with clear details. Then it's all 2D path objects. It's all about details, so you'd have to do it only when you're interested. Once it gets boring, save your work and do it some other time. I usually do the main shapes first, to see it it works out. Then add details later. Play around with transparencies and gradients.

Next to MSPaint, PI was one of the earliest graphics program I played around with.

Jumping in on an old thread. Here is something I made in PI XL. The Russell coat of arms which is my mother's maiden name. All done with editing path shapes.

Haven't done any 2D graphics with PI for quite some time. Too busy exploring 3D. But Carol's beautiful coat of arms is a great reminder of how versatile PI is. So I tried something I haven't touched a long time too, Pixel Art. (My avatar's probably the last thing I did using this style.) One pixel non-feathered brush, object layers and blend modes to come up with a complex looking design with very little effort.

Oops, almost forgot. Here's something I came up with. It's actually an experiment. Did a simple model in Wings 3d, used the Cartoon edge eps export and opened the eps in Corel Draw. Converted the unfilled line drawing to a psd file, then opened it in PI. Worked some magic and presto! I call it The Pumpkin because it's colored like one... must be Halloween.

I wish I could design sites as well as you can, Dr. Moobi. Drawing is one thing, but designing is really out of my league. Very good work.
One small crit. The trophy on the metalcraftwork site isn't cut out very smoothly though. You can see pixellation and parts of the original background color on the edge. The flash site is wonderful. Ironically, IP was one of the first programs I used. Maybe you don't remember Image Pals. Rich
I never heard of Image Pals, so I did a quick Google. So it was made by U-lead. Wow, this must be really ancient. That's a new one for this young'un http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif. Even in the Ulead site, Photostyler is the product mentioned as the earliest one. U-lead and Ulead, are they the same company?

Thank you, NeeDeon. I'm flattered. It's the first time I vectorized a car, and it was not easy at all. I'm glad this one came out OK.
It's small stuff compared with the master car vectorizers here. The top one would be Ron "Knightedduke". His vector car collection is the standard against all is measured with here. You would want to examine the wireframes he posts, as it generally reveals how things are arranged.
No big secret, really. Just obsession with details. First block out the general shapes, then add details, finally work in the reflections and shadows. Hide parts you're not working with so it wouldn't get too distracting when working with the details. And learn to save the file and quit when your interest in it starts to wane. Otherwise, you'll probably get careless and ruin your work. At least that's what I do.

So if you want to post images, you'll have to upload them to your site or free image hosting sites. One such site is Uploadhut. Then you could copy the url of the uploaded pic and press the little green picture-frame button above the Post a Reply or Post a topic box and paste the url there.
