I guess everyone is busy and either has nothing to share or no time, so here is some autumn inspiration :)
So far this is a pencil and ink sketch that I scanned and imported into XDP10. My plan is to vectorize it and add colour, texture and shading and the final piece will be a sugar maple leaf with it's famous autumn colour.
Once it's finished I will donate it to the Clipart gallery :)
I am working on a couple projects but nothing to post just yet.
Here's a section of a crest I'm drawing at the moment.
I like that Egg. Is it a real heraldic crest or something from your imagination?
Here is a peek at how the maple leaf is coming along, I have some nice texture now and I've begun to add some shading and I will be adding some more colouration and some highlights.
It's looking good Frances the texturing you have done is wonderful. No matter what Egg is using for inspiration, be it pure imagination or what, I agree, it is looking good.
Thanks Larry, here is the finished piece. The .xar file is available for download in the clipart forum

Hi Frances,
Thought I'd post this work in progress.
This was one of those things that I thought wasn't going too well and put it to one side. Then I went back to it when looking for something to post here and now I'm wondering what I was so unhappy with.
Regards,
Jim.

@ Jim I like that a lot, nothing to be unhappy about.
@ Frances I copied your maple leaf, created copies & applied transparencies and overlayed with copies with altered the dark conotone to create a brush.
Here's the results.
@Jim: that's really nice and I bet it would like fantastic coloured.
@ Egg: That's cool! You can also unlock the effects and then use the new colour replace to create maple leafs with different colour combinations.
Some of this is playing with extrusions, inspired by Gary. The packaging still needs sorting out, it was more fun doing the sweets!
Not sure what I'm going to use this for yet, if at all....
:)
Currently working on images for the Japanese stereogram magazine. The theme for this edition is places around the world in the four seasons. This one is called, Springtime in the South Pole.
I'm woefully far behind because one month into the assignment, the client changed the theme and Gene and I had to start from scratch.
Was there supposed to be an attachment Gary?
Partly drawn horse on another shield I'm drawing.
Updated.
That's really neat and clean Egg, after your initial drawing did you use the 3D Bump Map tool?
Stygg
Thanks Stygg,
No it's just a simple line drawing, cloned, filled with black, sent to back and given an external countour (inset path) to create the border or thick line width.
Then selecting the simple line drawing applying a Rounded 2 Contour.
See attachment.
The bird is from another crest I've been reproducing. Thought I'd experiment with some bevels & fills.
Fun works from all! :)
