I really like it Matt. very interesting composition. I'm might suggest taking some off the top (background). are you familiar with color harmonies? if so, I'd suggest a bit of a change there. I really love your vase:)

If one has not heard any of this b4 it can sound confusing, but when you have a color wheel to look at it's really less complex than it sound.
the color wheel at it's most basic is the primaries and the secondaries. direct color complements are yellow and purple; blue and orange; red and green.
then there is a whole lot more info that can be used for rendering design: warm and cool colors and how these can be used for creating perspective.....and so on.
you might try picking up a color compass or color wheel and read up on it. it's very interesting (for me anyway:) ) artists working in natural mediums use these principles, so I'm sure you could pick something up at your local arts & craft store or ask about it at a local book store.
as I said, when you have it to SEE /LOOK at in front of you it is not complex. hope this is helpful

cool, thanks.
I like the colors you have in there now.... looks great!
Hi Matt,
I like your drawings. The colours in this one are very good, IMO. The wall, flowers and table all have a basic colour. The vase's colour draws the viewers attention... where you want it. :)
here is another try at the colors. Hmmm... The possiblity of both. Thanks everyone. and feel free to add any comments. I hope to learn from everyone.
Very nice combination of "cartoon" elements with textured and beveled elements! One humble suggestion would be that you give the table a wall shadow similar to that of the vase, so that the table looks like its top has some depth for the vase to sit on.

matt, my words on color were not intended as criticism! if that's what came across I humbly apologize. just something for one to think about for expanding ideas....if it is of any interest. I am not a pro at any of this and learning alot myself
