it may be different if you manipulate text; any issues come back as chris said....
this thread served it's purpose, xara listened to the feedback....
no worries - converting text to bitmap might cause issues with websites but other than that, provided you have enough resolution to cover intended use, no reason why not.. but keep the text for future editiing of course :D
Gary, Xara, sadly, automatically converts skewed text to a bitmap so you can keep the original as text.
I hate this as another abandoned Xara kludge as all modern browsers can skew text with a light dusting of CSS.
This alone deserves its own megathread.
With another for rotated text.

this is if you are exporting/publishing a website - right?Quote:

it does not happen if I simply skew text in the workspace
I don't make websites in Xara, not eveyone does; this thread is not in the web forum and so your post may confuse some others who do not
just saying ;)
handrawn, that's true but I did then mention browser.
People can also use the Preview (browser view) of any Xara page to extract its components, including bitmapped skewed text.
I just cannot think of any situation in print where you need to convert a font to an image other than to beat licensing.
Acorn
sure, but what is obvious to those in the know is not always obvious to those who are not...
you might be wanting to post process it as an image rather than a vector - different filters, different approach...Quote:
