Re: More questions about Erasers...
Thanks so very much for all the info and suggestions. If I am understanding this correctly, I can save the ripple effect as a bitmap and then apply that bitmap as a fill? That might work. Yes Mike, that is exactly what I wanted to do - thank you. Ben, I'll try that too - I'm always trying the combine shapes/intersect - I like the way that works...most of the time! Thanks very much for the help; as always, it is greatly appreciated! I do however, still think that an eraser tool would be handy to have... :D
Re: More questions about Erasers...
Glad to have helped.
I agree. There are many times an eraser would be nice even in a vector app. On the freebie side, I believe Inkscape has one. On the commercial side, DrawPlus does.
Take care, Mike

Re: More questions about Erasers...
Erasers? Nope, you still don't need them. Coleen, try 'Locking' the 'Live Effect' before performing any Add, Subtract, Intersect, Slice, etc. operations on an object with a 'Live Effect' applied to it.
Your example and an excerpt from the Xara Designer Pro 7 manual follows...
Hopefully that will help you complete your project,

Re: More questions about Erasers...
May be barking up the wrong tree here, but how about locking the effect?

Ooopps! Hi Harry! Teach me to only read one page :D
Re: More questions about Erasers...
nice to see you Harry - yes that seems to 'fix' that aspect - well done :)
Re: More questions about Erasers...
That eliminates the need for creating a bitmap copy, thanks!
