Stu--
If you'd care to re-post that texture without lighting, it would be an incredible donation to the forum. Always, always need textures, particularly when trying to add visual detail to spacecraft and don't have the energy to model every stinking part, as i wish I did on most occasions.
Here's an oldy but moldy from 1995, before I even had a decent modeling application. The "Poser people" where done in Manniquin, a DOS (start laughing now, folks) application that came on a 5ΒΌ floppy, and the Mothership was made of the most primitive of shapes and textured in a long-defunct program, bought by MicroGrafx, then bought by Corel, and then erased, methinks.
My Best,
Gare

Hi guys
Brett I am still waiting for 8 to arrive actually
Gary soory I only have a flattened tif I believe as I was only thinking of using it in PS at the time, however it still looks kinda cool in 3d as well even with the lighting added.
A friend of mine is a marine and he sent me a camo texture, which needed some work so I mega tweaked it and made it tilable, here it is

STAR TREK? My favorite since I was a kid. Found this site some time back too. Some of the models are gone. The existing meshes are great.

Folks,
DV8's image of the Enterprise is a terrific example of how, if you spend as much if not more time texturing and lighting a scene as creating the meshes, you can better simulate reality.
In fact, I'm taking a break from modeling at present, just to work on the rendering aspects of the image synthesis pipeline.

I'm glad you took my "critique" in a positive way, which is the way in which I meant it.
FYI, I'm trying to experiment with all 3D programs that manufacturers will send me in exchange for a professional review, or demo programs. I downloaded 3D Canvas last night...today is Sunday with nothing to do but watch it SNOW outside (and no, I do not ski!), so I will tinker with it and post anything that might be useful to you on the information side of things.
My Best,
Gare
