Something along the lines of what Phillip mentions above is that I know this is more of a DTP feature but it WOULD make a really nice extra in Xara X1 (or X2 or X3 or X4.... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif ) is when you create a new shape, you would be presented on the task properties bar if you want that shape to be a text box. So you could draw an elipse or even a strange shape and it would take on the properties of a text box so the text would follow the shape. If it's Right Justified then it's going to follow the shapes lines to the right and if it's Left Justified it would, of course, follow the lines to the left and if it's Centered or Full Justified then the text would be centered or fill the inside of the shape evenly. I think that would come in handy for allot of folks!! Also a way to remove text from a shape or line and still have it still editable would be really great too!!
Just a few thoughts......... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Charles: "Er, Photoshop hasn't got a spell checker has it?"
Yes, PS CS does! I set quite a bit of text in PS, and it can come in handy. But it's not exactly a killer feature.

Yes, Charles, exactly the point I was trying to make. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
However, after I'd posted, I wondered if Adobe had maybe incorporated a spell checker in CS as I haven't upgraded from PS7 as yet. The fact that they have will not induce me to go the upgrade path any sooner. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/redface.gif
Sorry if I ruffled any feathers. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

I used to be a terrible speller. I have improved greatly over the years. What has made a significant difference fo me is a little book I keep at my desk. It is a special kind of dictionary called a 'Spelling Dictionary' - what makes it different is it has no definitions. Words can be looked up far more quickly than a regular dictionary. Using it, my spelling continues to improve rather than further decline as I'm sure it would if I relied on computerized spell checkers.
My little hard-covered book is 'The New Webster's Spelling Dictionary' published by Lexicon Publications. I think it cost $2 but is far more valuable. I'd highly recommend everyone have one handy at your desk.

Hi Ross,
I will have to take a look at that. thanks!

Ross, Of course, you would have the sense to suggest the ultimate solution. Our society has become so accustomed to things like spell checkers, idiot lights in vehicles, car chimes when lights left on, etc., that we seem to overlook going back to the source of the problem, instead of alway addressing the symptoms.
Charles, while you're at it, can you build a graphics checker into XaraX? Anytime I create something that XaraX considers to be ugly, I'd like it underlined with red, squiggly lines.

Each time a toy is dubbed "unsafe" and, therefor, illegal, I have to wonder -- how is it the last few generations survived the existence of that toy? What ever happened to personal responsibility?
Spell checkers are handy for combing through large documents -- whether web/programming code or someone elses work -- but when it comes down to it, "My spell checker missed that one." isn't an excuse for error -- after all, you missed it before and after the checker did. Take matters into your own hands, write it right the first time.

ThePrawn - Righteous rightwing writers write right - right?
(I had to look up the 'right' spelling of 'righteous'). http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
