I prefer this to stained glass for removing white, as you can remake bitmaps from it without the color shifts stained glass sometimes produces
EDIT - but it will shift the saturation level so there again........ it all depends
ok so 2d issue with doing the transparency methos is that i get a message when i preview my flash saying that "The following cannot be exported:Frame 2: Complex fill with non-flat transparency." so when i click ok it shows the flash animation but the white border is still there just slightly transparent but nonetheless still visible.

ah sarcasm - you mean we can use sarcasm! why was I not told :D :D :D
on a more serious note:
Bob - I am a supporter of mac's white, I've also had it since way back when - and yes it could well be the best of the bunch for removing white.
Mehdi genuine has the advantage you are not limited to white - you can erase any single color value, but you need to adjust the settings to avoid 'fringe'

Chris
the above post is for sledger/gary not you :D
you are using flash? - ah that makes a difference - you did not say in OP
flash dosn't do fancy transparencies as far as I know - hopefully another member can help on this :)

It was the sarcasm bit that I meant - I didn't want you to think I was accusing you of being sarcastic ;)
Glad that it worked and you found it useful.
The transparency thing is a limitation of the flash format I think.

That was all I had time to say. Barely managed to click Submit before I had to run out of the office. Would you prefer that I not have answered at all? :)
I figured I could at least point out some possibilities he could investigate until someone came along who had time to write a tutorial or dig up links.

Re: need quick help. ez for pro's im sure.
Glad to hear that too
Thing is the moderators sometimes bang on about not quoting from posts immediately preceding so this time I didn't.
That meant it might not have been clear which post I was referring to.
Alison - with you on that one, I'm always doing six things at once ;)
Re: need quick help. ez for pro's im sure.
