I've been trying to master one of the toughest animations -- a walk cycle. I'm a LONG way from getting it, but here are a couple of my recent experiments (using Xara & Flash):
http://www.grumblebee.com/walk/walk4.html
http://www.grumblebee.com/walk/walk5.html
Anyone here tried a walk cycle before? Any tips?

is pretty close
Course I don't know anyone that has a neck quite that long Actually the character is quite nice and made me smile
Keep up the great work

you have to fly (or something like that).
The guy with the bouncing glasses is delightful, Marcus. As always entertaining and understated.

Marcus,
Love them both. How about reducing the size and getting them to walk across the screen?

And what a speedy response!

... great animations, Marcus!
The guy with the glasses could be me! Except he has a better posture than me ... I really need to get a new chair I'm using a 40's office chair which kills my back... but it has a funny seat so it also gives me bunns of steel
Love your characters, Marcus! It is fantastic to see the come alive!

Nice Marcus! So amazingly simple and effective.
I have been practicing human motion too but I get so complicated. I made the bits different colors to keep track of the movement.
Below is my Flash attempt.. not sure if I posted this before.

Bob, I did the same thing!
In my first experiments, it was REALLY helpful to give the back legs & arms different colors from the front legs and arms. If I hadn't done that, I would have been hopelessly confused.
I'm now getting to the point where I don't need to do this, but it took a while.
