Document Info : More info please.
Is there a way to see the contents/structure of a XDP file.
I need to discover (layer and location) where there is bitmap located in my DPX11 file to remove/re-draw it.
There is a long outstanding problem with exporting to Corel Draw files, in that if there is a bitmap in your Xara file, then Xara will crash.
This has happened to me for every version I have used over the history of the product:-
XXP4, XX, XX¹, XDP7, XDPX, XDPX11
So, does anyone know how to find a pesky bitmap in a DP file that I can remove and avoid the crash when exporting to a CD32 file?

Re: Document Info : More info please.
you should have a list of bitmaps used in the name gallery - you can select them there
once selected there you can use the page and layer gallery 'locate' if the position is not obvious

Thanks for the heads up "handrawn"
Knowing where to look is a good start, but the plot thickens:-

Actually I recognise the name of the GIF as being a logo I did in Xara 3D.
I had forgotten I must have inserted it as a GIF, it was some time ago.
Anyways, now deleted and the CD32 file creates without Xara crashing.
Thanks again.
Re: Document Info : More info please.
glad you found it - guess you needed to use 'make all the layers visible/editable' buttons in order to select it ?

Bother, and I thought it was just bitmaps that caused the problem:-

Now I am seriously worried, as I don't know another route to produce a CD32 file from a Xara file that is bitmap free.
Anyone care to take a look please.

I can look at exporting the file, but I don't have corel draw [only painter

Using the 32-bit CMX filter has always been a hit or miss for me. So much so that I have just used the 16-bit version.
But, I opened your file and it exported to the 32-bit CMX format just fine. Then and added a bitmap, exported to the 32-bit CMX from XDP 15.

No crashes.
Re: Document Info : More info please.
appears to export ok both cmx6 [32] and cmx5 [16] with XDPX12 - no crashes - no idea if the file is ok as it will not import back into xdpx [well only as a flattened single page] and i don't have CDraw
Re: Document Info : More info please.
Thanks for looking into this for me guys.
To view a CD32 file I use Inkscape 0.48.5-1 which is the 32bit version.
"hit or miss" has always been the case for me.
I have found a work around in that if I strip the file back to a single page and a single layer, the saved file from XDPX11 loaded into XDPX(8) after a few warnings, will export to a CD32 file.
If I save that file out of XDPX(8) and load it back into XDPX11, try to export to a CD32 file, it fails but not crashes, but it also greys out the "Export" option, so something is not right.
Anyway, I have my file, I just wish the Export option was more stable and didn't fail with a bitmap present on one of the pages that you are not exporting from.
Thanks again.
