365 New Error: Is This Error Familiar To Anyone?
For the past week using the new 365, I'm thinking to myself, "wow, this seems to be the most stable version yet."
Things have been moving along fantastic as I put the new ver. through the paces... that is until now.
I just booted up the program as usual and got this error.
Yes, I rebooted. Yes, I've run as Admin. etc...
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Cliff

Go to C:Program Files (X86) or Program Files for the 64-bit version. Go to Xara and find the folder associated with your program. Locate the DesignerPro.exe file and double click and see if that opens the application.
Re: 365 New Error: Is This Error Familiar To Anyone?
Yes Gary... one of the first things I did was to try and run it from the install folder... but no good....
thanks
Oh... I also put in a support ticket to Xara
Re: 365 New Error: Is This Error Familiar To Anyone?
Ack! I've gotten that error when trying to click on icons for older versions and usually the C:Programs > Xara has worked for me. Computers! When they work the world is a good place and when they don't.... [banghead] [banghead] [banghead] (I rest my case!)
Re: 365 New Error: Is This Error Familiar To Anyone?
Well, I guess I just wait for 'support' to get back to me..... it's just so frustrating - I started a project for someone and now I won't have use of the program for a week or so. $139 for 5 days use.... not bad.
Maybe it's just my crazy luck with Xara... it just seems that it's not/never as stable as other apps I use.
I was hoping to rid myself of some expensive subscriptions with this ver., but I guess it might not happen this time around.
Anyway.... thanks Gary.
I'm gonna download the 32bit ver. and see how that works out.
Re: 365 New Error: Is This Error Familiar To Anyone?
yup! The 32bit installed and works... so at least I can use that to continue.... (even if I did lose all my shortcuts and settings)
But.... just for info for others that might experience this.... I did fix it. I decided to reinstall and got the 'repair' option. Chose is and it got the 64 bit up and working again.
Just had to input the registration again....
Ok.... so now I'm back to my Xara paranoia mode... but at least I have a backup. (my 32 bit install)
Re: 365 New Error: Is This Error Familiar To Anyone?
Hi all. Haven't been here for a while, but have this same error msg. Tried uninstall and reinstall...no good. Did get the option to repair but that did not work either. I set up a support ticket last Friday and so far have had no response from tech support at all. I didn't try the 32-bit version. I guess that will be my next step. I sure enjoy the 64-bit benefits. It would be nice to hear a confirmarion from support.
Isn't it strange that all of a sudden everybody has starting to get this error...
Suggestions r always welcome. Thanks.
David
Re: 365 New Error: Is This Error Familiar To Anyone?
Everyday's a new adventure with my beloved Xara software.... although it's 'fixed', now every time I run it, it asks me to activate and register the software online.
It remembers the reg number and then gives me the "thank you, the program has been successfully registered." Great! But I have to do each time a run it.
I'll tell you, in the past I used to get upset when I had a Xara software adventure, but now I find myself kinda grinning, shaking my head and saying here we go again.
And the thing is, that I don't really give a sh_t anymore. Just have to resign myself to 'NEVER' do any serious work with Xara software. Just use for an occasional play (when I can)
and for some quick little things it does well. But serious stuff....? I don't think so.... LOL
Re: 365 New Error: Is This Error Familiar To Anyone?
Try Run as Administrator now cmpan1.
David - I have used both 32 and 64-bit versions and to be honest the difference in speed is not that apparent.
Re: 365 New Error: Is This Error Familiar To Anyone?
Gary... really? :-O Thanks for you help but after this whole thread, ya think I didn't run this thing as admin?
I DO appreciate your effort/help.
Thanks
