Bypass Xara 1920px width Picture Import Limit
I typically use images referenced externally to my Xara-driven designed websites so I can control the filename and the resolution.
Not everyone has the patience and the luxury to deliver site or standalone documents in this fashion.
I promised GaryP a method at http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...962#post558962.
My way around the 1920px limit is simple.
I bring in my high resolution images into a separate Blank photo template.
I then copy and paste into my print or web page.
Done.

Re: Bypass Xara 1920px width Picture Import Limit
Thanks Acorn. Egg suggested this too and it does work. Except I think that Xara ignores the resolution when you stretch the image. I have not confirmed this but they either reduce the resolution or they add too much compression because the stretched image is not as sharp as the same image enlarged in Xara at 1:1 at approximately the same size.
Re: Bypass Xara 1920px width Picture Import Limit
I've imported a 33MB image, 18277 x 26742 px, 488.8 MP size.
When I examine at Xara's fullest magnification I have 1 x 1 px squares, all at 24-bit resolution.
There is no diffusion that smooths out the screen rendering that other applications might show.
When at resize it to 1%, I get 9599 dpi.
I'm open to any arcanery to prove Xara's import is doing something untoward.
