Strange---but true
Why is it I experience the wierd ones? Just lucky I guess.
I produced a wonderful 29 page document for the local community in Xara pro 11. for downloading as .pdf All great so far. Then decided to also present it as a super site linked into the web site. Imported the complete document into a supersite layout and added some nav bars and links out to other info web sites.
Checked and tested with IE in house and all working great. Uploaded and linked in and suddenly Chrome,Firefox and Opera show odd letters missing in the document bu IE shows it correctly.
Any ideas? as it is usually IE that plays up
regards

Re: Strange---but true
You are lucky!
Did you use the original document to to create the website or the PDF?

Re: Strange---but true
I've seen similar problems before, which were caused by the font Calibri. Are you using this font?

Re: Strange---but true
Hi Gary I used the original Xara document not the pdf I created as I have had problems in the past.
Egg, you may well be correct as the person who did the original text (our planning consuktant) produced it in word and I think I recal a calibri font warning when exporting it. Why word defaults to this font I will never know. Will look at changing the fomt for the who;e document and then see what happens.I suppose Microsofts love of calibri would spill into their browser. Makes sense.
Cheers guys (as usual)

Re: Strange---but true
You should be able to change the font globally. Select some of the text then right click and select Replace ____font with... And select a new font. You can also select a section of the text, make any changes to font, style and size and then from the Styles drop down menu select Update Normal Text to Match.

Re: Strange---but true
Thanks Guys it does appear as Egg said the problem is with the browsers not liking Calibri. Silly old Microsoft=D>
Have changed the first few pages and run them through all the browsers I have installed an the problem seems to be cured. Have substituted with good old Arial!
Only problem is of course is that whilst substituting the layout has changed so here I go to realign the graphics on all 29 pages
Happy days
Cheers

Re: Strange---but true
Good to hear you've sorted it. I don't think I've ever seen this problem reported by any other font but Caliri ..... very strange.

Re: Strange---but true
Hi Egg thanks for the pointer. I suppose calibri is just another step on microsoft's world domination tour!
Strange that other browsers seem to shun it. Net opinion does not seem to favour it very much. Must remember to change office documents which all have it as default font

Looked at this some more. Preview the attached in FF, Chrome & Opera. Fine in IE though.
