My sister wanted a drawing of a face, so Big Mouth Tim said "I'll draw one with Xara". With images of Bill, Steve, Gary, Christine, Judi, Ross, Derek and all the others dancing in my head I jumped in. a quarter of the way through I realized that I had BITTEN OFF MORE THAN I COULD CHEW! Anyway, my sister liked it and named it Stella. It's my first attempt at something as complex as the human face. Much more difficult than I anticipated. Something interesting did happen, I've been going to graphics.com (through XaraXone naturally) and to the Xara Gallery and looking at the Masters who can really draw faces with much different eyes. Anyway, hope you like my first attempt. If I can't laugh at myself once in a while, what's the point.

Hi Tim,
That is excellent, especially as it is your first attempt at a face. The hair looks very good. That's the part I can't get done well.

Very good Tim. You dared to do a great big smile, not an easy thing and it works.
One thing, not that much of a biggie as it isn't photo realistic, but the lines in the face created from the smile normally would be darker than the surrounding skin not lighter.
Good for your Sis to encourage you.

And she looks just like my next-door neighbor Tammy! Do YOU know Tammy too?? I very much like the style of this portrait. She charms the viewer.

And that's not easy! Great first attempt, much better than my attempts. The thing that strikes me is how excited and happy she looks. Not easy to express. Great job!
