How can I do multi-colour blends along the same axis?
Hi
OK I give up - how can I do multi-colour blends along the same axis?
i.e. I have a shape (creating a 3D cylinder in fact) that needs to go though a series of colours one after another, along the same axis.
Am I forced to do multiple layers with variable transparency, or is there a more direct method?
Note that "Three colour" and "Four colour" force you into using a second dimension. I want all the colours lining up in the same direction, all fading nicely from one to another?
Is this possible?
Cheers

Hi
If I understood well, you need a linear gradient
initially only two end colors Attachment 102423
* then double click the arrow gradient and the choice of colors (how many times you need it) Attachment 102421

Correct answer Igor. :)
You can also drag and drop colors from the screen palette or from the Color Editor onto the fill path arrow.
The colors on the fill path arrow can moved either by dragging the square with the Fill Tool or clicking on the color square with the Fill Tool then using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

Great. I'm now wondering why I didn't think of trying that ! :^/
Perfect! Many thanks both. :^)

Btw, is there any way to change the 'speed' at which colours move from one to another along the gradient? i.e. is there any way to change the shape of the curve of how fast one is going from colour to colour as one moves across the shape?
I seem to keep getting rather sharp banding...

Okay J,
Here's a mumbling bunbling tut on how I'd do it using profiles:
