Has anyone else been deluged with virus-infected messages from this address?
I must get 4-12 a day.
All files are about 88K in size.
Just curious.

lots of ads for virus protection, both MaCafee and Norton.
I have this sneaking suspicion that they are in cahoots with the virus authors sometimes to drum up business!! Paranoia? Maybe, but it just seems weird that some folks are getting these possible infected scam messages (88Kb's seems like that is large enough to contain a virus, it's been my experience that between 80Kb's to 130Kb's is generally a red flag in my book) while I and I'm sure others are getting inundated with ads to upgrade their virus protection software.
Very strange indeed!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

are bogus and contain viruses.
What a world!
Even previewing the message in mail washer can open the virus.

Same here. About 6 a day for the past 2 weeks. I can't find the source to report the abuse. Sending an email only gets bounced back. I've configured O/E to leave these messages on my ISP's server.

That's not a good idea: after several weeks your mailbox will have reached the limit and you won't be able to receive the mails you are waiting for. It would be better to delete those mails on the server.
BTW, this spam is another good reason to install Linux, because with Linux you can manage your mail server via a remote login. And you have endless software options to set up bounce features, rewrite headers, disguise the bounced mail, trace back the sender etc. Do a 'whois' and nail that guy and then redirect his spam to his real account.
Windows is kind of limited in this area ;-}

Problem is, the phone has been disconnected and the guy may have an infected server. I have also tried e-mailing and contacting Register.com, to no avail.
Except that the messages are too consistent and all the exact same file size.

an email client, called Calypso, known only to an initiated few maybe <g>, but it's great. I got onto it after reading about a zillion rave reviews on CNET. I love it, not least, its built-in ability to blow stuff off the server without my ever having to download it. I keep the preview window shut and simply trash everything that looks the least bit suspicious before I bring anything across to my own computer--and I've developed a pretty good nose. I use Grisoft anti-virus, also good, also free. The Calypso bonus? It's free--although you may have to search around (it's a defunct commercial product). Look for v3.3 If you want to try it and can't find it let me know, I have a copy stored away somewhere I think.
I'm sure no one here uses anything like Outlook Express--eh? No.
