Chuck Older A.V.G.
This is a different composition using the drawings and background from the last P40 piece. The P40 has been redrawn, changing it to a C model. The illustration is of Chuck Olders plane he flew in China as one of the original Flying Tigers. He was a member of the 3rd Hell's Angels.

I don't think I will get tired of looking at your work.
I love the smoke.
Was that done in Xara, as well?

Re: Chuck Older A.V.G.
Another action packed render. I can see in my mind a figure tumbling from the burning plane parachute ½ open as he falls to earth. The story goes on...
Great job Gray
Have I seen those clouds before?

Re: Chuck Older A.V.G.
Excellent, I like this better than the previous one.

Re: Chuck Older A.V.G.
Gary, thanks. This one is more dramatic than the last.
Rik, thanks. The smoke was drawn and colour blocked in vector, then detailed with raster.
Tabian, thanks. Both the plane drawings and background are used from the last one. The plane was redrawn as an earlier model. I think out of the 100+ illustrations of planes these are the only two I have included smoke and flames in. Thought for the Flying Tigers it was needed.
Larry, thanks. I like this composition better myself.

Another fine illustration! You seem to have a great deal of knowledge about military machines. What are some of your reference sources?

Thanks Mike for leaving a comment. I get most of my information from books and of course the web.

Re: Chuck Older A.V.G.
I certainly like this one better!
I know these compositions are difficult - a compression of a scene to get a dramatic effect.
