Text effects in PGD7
I used XPGD7 to do some simple text w/ shadow and added it to my website (as an h1 tagged page heading). I do not pretend to be a graphic designer and would like a designers eye to tell me how to spice it up. Perhaps emboss or engrave? How can this be accomplished?
May I add the url of where it's posted so you can see it on the website (site not built w/ Xara).

What is the function of this graphic? As I see it, this is an action button to get your visitor to press the button. Is this correct?
If so, keep it simple. Make it easy for your visitor to know what she or he is supposed to do. This is not an art picture. It's a resubmit request button.
Just my dos centavos.

my initial reaction is its completetly the wrong font - far too fancy for the implied function - but that is said without seeing the site of course

Re: Text effects in PGD7
With permission it is a fancy h1 heading for a website page. Various pages = various text. With permission the url is www . iems . co
I chose a pic to represent text instead of simply text for the purposes of having it look more unified in Firefox. Regular text would be grainy otherwise. Thoughts? Obviousely I have more work to do on the site. Please be merciful. Thank you.

Re: Text effects in PGD7
I googled how to add engrave text effect and what came up was for photoshop. Would the same steps apply to xara. What steps would I need to take to apply "engraved" text effect in xara? I am wanting the text to be white and placed over an image. Will the effect be believable? Thank you for your time.

the link to the photoshop information would help [the programs don't work the same way]

Re: Text effects in PGD7
I would use the bevel tool because I seem to have better luck with that.
Here are a couple of quick examples of what you can do with it. I did add some noise to these but that is optional. If you need further information just ask.

Simple, but, very effective, Larry.
I particularly like the 'Embossed' one.

I like the Embossed and the Debossed equally well.
