Xara Xtreme
So I am teaching myself how to use Xara Xtreme and everything is going great except I can't for the life of me figure out how to save my image as a file type that I can then open in GIMP 2.6. I'm using the latest version of Ubuntu I believe it to be 11.06. The file is currently saved as a .XAR file but I would like to do a save as a GIMP friendly file type such as a .PNG
Sincerely,
Some_Oner

Welcome to TalkGraphics. You might save yourself some time and trouble and edit your image in Xtreme.

Re: Xara Xtreme
Hi Some_oner welcome to Talkgraphics.
You mentioned Ubuntu so I will assume you are running Xara LX on Linux. Export your image as a jpeg (I don't recall now what or if LX supported any other raster image file types).
GIMP is a raster (also known as bitmapped) image editor.
