There is a degree of 'having to wait until the wind is in the right direction', but once it is you can be over the target in a matter of days. It might be worth suggesting to the Ministry of Defence the inclusion of some sort of small fan to speed the mission up a bit, or perhaps a sail made from recycled table cloths or bed sheets.

Hmm, given the severe cutbacks I have been reading about, your solution could probably cut down on the budget drain. Maybe they could enlist some of the budget cutters (who think that feeding elderly persons who are physically unable to do so themselves is not an "essential service"), to strap on the balloons and do their duty keeping the country protected. ;))
That's such a good idea, Derek. I think when you put it into service you'll have to paint the balloons in a camouflage colour scheme though.
Whilst camouflage would seem to be a good idea, my desire was first and foremost to bring a little cheer to what is usually a rather depressing area of human activity. Everybody concerned seems to always look so serious. So before raining down death and destruction I feel it might be better to lift the overall mood with a little gaiety and cheer from the brightly coloured balloons drifting slowly overhead otherwise it's all just a little too drab.Quote:
