Possible Browser Issue? Help Please..
My friends I've just finished my first site with Web Designer 6. I built many with an antique version of Adobe Page Mill and am planning on updating all of those with Xara. So far I'm very happy with the program. Today I had a friend call up and he says I have all kinds of problems with the new site. I'm not seeing them? My client is very happy, he is not seeing the problems. My wifey at work is not seeing the problems. I'm thinking he is having browser problems? Let me rephrase..I hope he has browser problems and it's not my site. Can anyone go in and look at the site and give me thier opinion? It's nothing special..but a happy client is! Thanks Jeff

Welcome to TalkGraphics Jeff
I don't know if you are currently working on the site, but in Firefox and Internet Explorer, there are serious problems.
I am getting a green screen with two lines of text on ever page with the content one screen below. The content on the screen below when I scroll down looks good but I am not sure that that business at the top is all about.
Your gallery page needs to be broken up into several galleries. Either your site is on a very slow server, or there are just too many photos.
Re: Possible Browser Issue? Help Please..
I am getting what Gary described above in Firefox (3.6), but in IE7, the site seems to be fine.

Re: Possible Browser Issue? Help Please..
Okay, this is strange. I had that huge green top border in IE9, Chrome10, Safari (Windows) and Firefox 3.6. But it loaded perfectly in Opera!
Being a techie-dummy, I downloaded the page to see what I might catch in MS Expression. BUT, luckily I checked my browsers again -- every single browser opened the page properly, but only of my hardrdive -- so it may indeed be a slow server. BUT --- again! --- that suggested looking at his graphic file sizes, as long as they're on my hard-drive. That's not it either. They all look well optimized.
If I'm not back here in 15 minutes, then I saw nothing in Expression's HTML.
Re: Possible Browser Issue? Help Please..
Found it. Over my head but found it. I saw this when I opened it in Word "-->" Which says something is being closed that was never opened. Did a search and these next two lines say the same thing diferently. Lines 18-20. The "bad" part is boldface in the second line, the same "-->" and it's where that green background is in the code, 0000.png.
Try removing the "-->" in line 20.

Re: Possible Browser Issue? Help Please..
Mike..and everybody many thanks for your help. But Mike what you suggest may be over my head? I might open the site back up in Xara and try to see if I can find anything there, then upload it to the server again? I have never had any issues with my server. I'll be back in a bit after trying a few things...again..thanks Jeff
Re: Possible Browser Issue? Help Please..
OK I've gone in and looked at the site in Webdesigner, it appeared fine, I previewed it and it appeared fine, I exported it to my backup drive and also saved it in designer. I transferred all the files from that backup drive to my server again. Last time I did this I think I only uploaded the "newer" files, this time I uploaded all of them. It looks fine to me on the web, but I couldn't see any of the issues before, I'm using IE8. If it would help you guys to have an image of what's on my server, I'll capture a quick one for you guys and upload it? Really appreciate all the still needed help, thanks Jeff

Re: Possible Browser Issue? Help Please..
Would it be possible to inspect your .web/.xar file?
It seems that your chosen page background colour and shape are being generated with some text then all other elements for the page are being generated shifted below the background. See attached image to see where the background and the other elements are in relation to each other.
BTW this is how I see the page in all my installed browsers. IE9, Firefox 3.6.16, Chrome10, Opera 11.01, and Safari 5.0.3

Bill many thanks buddy for your help, uploading that image took time, very special of you. Hey I hope this is the file you like to see. I'm not sure I'm uploading the site correctly or not to my server. I am not uploading this file. I can get you a quick snapshot of what is on my server if you'd like...Here we go and thanks again, Jeff..
