perspective
I have tried to get a way to put clock numbers in the correct perspective without success, the only way I know is to take every figure separately and manually skewing them, the same happends with lines.
I'd like to know if somebody knows how to do it in other way to get a perfect result.
I've try blend over a path, fix text to a curve, etc, nothing worked.
I'm attaching part of a drawing of xara clippart to show what I mean.
Your help is really appreciate it

Re: perspective
I would put a vanishing point somewhere in the middle down low so that I could make a custom perspective line pattern on the guide layer. Then I would make boxes on the line perhaps with a blend tool and copy that as well to the guide layer.
Then I would create the letters as shapes(maybe not necessary) and then apply a mould to them and snap the mould to the guides.

Re: perspective
Jeff,
It sounds very atractive, but I can't catch the idea,
You make all the text at once or every figure separated?.
Can you upload a step by step example?.
Best regards and thank you very much

Re: perspective
Javier would the Mould Tool not work for you. I know it is a complex perspective as you have multi levels from the face up to the bezel. If you draw the shapes in 2D and then group them and use the Mould Tool would that not work. Mind you it is so comples maybe a 3D programme would be the way to go and then bring it back in to Xara for more rendering. Did this very quickly and that is the way you probably did it but if you ungrouped the the perspective the text would still be able to be edited.

Re: perspective
hello Albacore,
You are right the problem is the multi level, in the example you sent me numbers are horizontal and they should be a bit vertical and angle is changing, it is a bit difficult to explain it, take a look at the first example I upload, I group all the figures and use mould tool but the result is odd.
I think it is a type of 3 points perspective I'm working on that :D.
It is that kind of things you see and think it is easy and then the reality appears
As I mentioned before the idea is try to get a procedure, today I'm doing it skewing the figures individually and it works but it would be better to achieve a more professional and smart way:'(
Best regards

Re: perspective
I think Albacore's suggestion to use 3D program maybe the "best" way to go.
Even if you could not import a vector format, you could use a screen capture to visualize what the numbers should look like.
There are free 3D programs that should be able to do what you need without too much effort.
You might also go to the "Extreme Official Guide Book" forum and do a search. Gary Boutin may have a suggestion.
=================================
If the font you use for the lettering is common and you know the relative size of the diameter, there may be one of us that has a 3D program that can do a protype for you.

Re: perspective
Hi Javier,
Here's a rendering from Rhino 3D that might help with the perspective look. I had to reduce the size to send it; hope it's not too ragged. :)

Re: perspective
Thank you very much to all, Fred that looks impressive, to learn a 3D program is what I want to do but it is not so easy.
Sheff, you are right, I placed vanishing point a side and it works as a guide to mould tool.
I'm uploading a jpg to be clearer.
Again, thank you very much for helping me.
