puzzle pieces
This may belong in the plug-ins area. If so, I am sorry. I need to come up with a puzzle piece design with one or more pieces missing. I can draw this but to be honest...I need to just provide a basic concept before really dedicating much time to it. Is there a filter or "quick" method to accomplish something like this?
Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

Re: puzzle pieces
Hi
I've found a piece of Xara clipart from an earlier version of xtreme but its just puzzel pieces rather than an entire image with the jigsaw overlaid which is what I imagine you are after.
If its of any help let me know and I'll post .xar file, though it would be easy enough to draw.

Re: puzzle pieces
if these puzzle pieces are vector and you can arrange them suitably then you could use them to clipview your design image
quick test using the pieces Derek posted up [vectorised]

Re: puzzle pieces
Here's what can be achieved using Alien Skin's Xenofex2/Puzzle filter. The blanks can be altered as transparent or any colour you choose.
Also it is possible to change the %age of blank pieces.

Re: puzzle pieces
Hi Duane,
recently there was a similar request in the Web Designer section of this forum. Hope that helps.

Re: puzzle pieces
I never really thought about it before it appears to be a thin black lined transparency on top of a picture. If you want a blank puzzle piece you change the enclosed area (puzzle piece) from transparent to whatever color you want to represent a blank spot.
Here is a challenge. In a real puzzle the edges of each piece are pressed down from the press cutting. To make the puzzle layer look more realistic how would you go about producing the pressed edge effect?

How about a rounded bevelled edge with an outer glow?
