Copy the same object with the color of the background and have it repel(flow) around this object.
Or make the object have already the color of your background

Or make it 99.5% transparent. ;)
Make sure to give the object a fill and then set it to 99,5% transparency
otherwise if you make the fill set to none the transparency trick doesn't work

Also, if you don't want this object to be actually exported as an image, make it a placeholder and enter one space as a code into it.
