Drop shadow problem
I stumbled upon the following problem. I had some text overlapping a photo. I applied a drop shadow to the text and exported the whole thing as PDF/X. The problem is that the "transparent" areas of the drop shadow bitmap isn't matching the color of the corresponding area on photo, but is slightly lighter but very visible in both print and in acrobat. I tried to recreate the problem but I cannot! I thought it could have been due to having xara in print preview, or having different color profiles to the imported photos, and I have tested this but the pdf:s looks perfect and print perfect as well! Is this problem familiar to any members out there?

What happens if you convert the text to editable shapes and then select the shadow and make it CMYK?
I suspect the problem is the shadow is RGB and the rest of the image is CMYK.

Re: Drop shadow problem
I agree what Gary has just stated and that is why I have been asking for some form of warning when you are working in CMYK to flatten these areas and not left to sort out after exporting. I know that I am being lazy but when your are caught up in the design you tend to focus on that area and not the work a rounds.
