Stopping lines becoming shapes?
In XXP 3.2
While using the freehand & brush tool, is it possible to prevent a line (circular)becoming a closed shape and automatically filling with colour?
Watching the videos on sketching, this appears to be possible but so far no amount of experimentation has worked for me:confused:
Re: Stopping lines becoming shapes?
is this more complex a question than simply setting the 'current graphic attribute' for fill color to none? :)
sorry if I am mis-understanding
Re: Stopping lines becoming shapes?
Ohh Geesh!
Is that all you need to do:o
Thats probably the one thing I didn't think of doing.
Was hoping you'd come back with some complex solution that would require hours of practice on my part;)
Think I better go and hide my head:D
Thank's Steve:D
Re: Stopping lines becoming shapes?
glad to help
I like simple solutions [being simple myself] ;) :D
Re: Stopping lines becoming shapes?
further thought on this subject - the whiz kids of xara in their wisdom have increased the 'hit radius' for automatically closing a shape from 2pix to 12pix in xara 3.2 - perhaps they don't do much detailed freehand sketching
there's a registry fix for this, when I find it I'll post it
EDIT: here it is [quoting NeilH]:
" Issue 1: There's no option in the UI for changing this currently, but you can change a value in the registry to reduce the size of the radius used to decide whether it should auto-close. Edit:-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xara\XaraXtremePro\Opti ons\Selection Blob Sizes\Freehand end hit-detect
and change it's value from 12 to (say) 2. This will make the hit radius 2 pixels instead of 12. We should add an entry into the Options dialog for this in the future. Will note. For Xtreme 3.2 users, the registry location is as above, but with "XaraXtreme3.2" instead of "XaraXtremePro" in the path. "
usual warnings about not making registry changes unless you know exactly what you are doing.....
