Multi Page in Xara Xtreme Pro
I have imported new pages in to XXP and some import at different sizes and others import at the default page size, however if I cange the page size on any page all pages change? is this correct behaviour (I would like to have different page sizes)
After playing around a bit I've found that if you open a new drawing say A4 and then im port a drawing say 50x50pix and choose inset a page of 50x50pix will be added but if you import again and its A4 and the same there after, but if you start again the first import will give that small page.
It does'nt work for big pages over the 50x50'ish

Re: Multi Page in Xara Xtreme Pro
I've just got 3.01 and the problem I mentioned above is still there.
after futher investigation the first import is loaded at its own page size not just small any size. say if you page id 800x600 then the imported page will import at its own size i.e. 50x50 50x100 1024x768 etc and all following imports will be the original page size 800x600.
also if you right click any page and choose page options and then change the size, then ALL pages are resized!
"I think this is an undocumented feature (bug)".
My personal wish is that each page should be able to have its own size A4, A5, 120mmx120mm etc, say to do a CD album project (CD on body 117mmx117mm, CD booklet 120mmx240mm, Tray card 117.5mmx149.5mm) keeps all you artwork together. :)
Re: Multi Page in Xara Xtreme Pro
well no response from anyone on this feature, I'm not complaining its just somthings that nearly works and I'd like to know (having bought XXPro) what is going to happen.
I've put Dec relase on yesterday and still get the same results.
If you print with the differing page sizes it prints the different page sizes (with crop marks etc) and if you save and load the different page sizes stay.
its just that you don't have any control of individual page size.
is it just me? Am I going mad ? I'd like to get at least one comment from Xara...
Re: Multi Page in Xara Xtreme Pro
Hi, Wizzard...
I'm too new at the multi-page feature to be able to add much to your comments on this issue, however:
When I bring in more pages, they all come in at my default (US Letter) size.
When I import graphics to these pages, the graphic comes in at it's own design size. When I tried to import a picture as it's own new page, however, I got the same result you did.
Interesting. Just didn't want to you to think no one was listening :)

Re: Multi Page in Xara Xtreme Pro
Thanks Will,
I just want Xara to acknowledge there is or is'nt a problem...
Re: Multi Page in Xara Xtreme Pro
Hi Wizzard,
With the activity going on at Xara Group Ltd, they may not always see any posting here at Talkgraphics. If you need a response from them the preferred method is to open a ticket on their support page http://support.xara.com
Just a quess on my part, but I do believe the multiple page was designed for people needing to create brochures and things of that nature where the page size is constant for each page.
Re: Multi Page in Xara Xtreme Pro
Thanks Soquili I'll do that :D
Re: Multi Page in Xara Xtreme Pro
By default Xtreme Pro insists that all pages are the same size. So the case where the first import gives you a second page that is a different size to the first page is a bug. This will be logged.
There is a hidden preference that you can change in the registry if you want to make it so that you can have different sized pages in a design. But be warned that very little if any testing has been done using this option, so it's possible you may find problems. To give it a try simply close Xtreme Pro and set the following entry to 0 in the registry:-
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xara\XaraXtremePro\Opti ons\Preferences\AllPagesTheSame
Thanks
Neil
Re: Multi Page in Xara Xtreme Pro
Neil,
Thanks for the information...but I'll stick with the "all pages the same" option turned on! ;)
First of all, I really like that idea.
Second, I really do NOT like fooling around in my registry any more than absolutely necessary.
You people at Xara have much to be proud of! Thanks for giving us such wonderful tools for our work.
