Hello all,
I am new to this forum and to using Xara X1, so a big hello to you all. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
I have downloaded some of the brushes from xaraxone site and then followed the instructions to install the brushes (yes I unzipped them into a folder first), but when I click on the "add folder to gallery" menu it comes up with the message as stated on xarxxone, so I then press the add button, but I get a message box saying "Can't find any suitable files to add to the index for the specified folder". Am I doing something wrong?
Yes I have made sure that I am at the folder I created and had unzipped the brushes to.
Regards,
Dave

You are trying to add them to the clipart gallery?

Hello Davoid,
Welcome to talkgraphics. I do not know much about brushes. They slow up my computer to much for me to really like using them. (Slow redraw times). I just wanted to welcome you here.

Brushes would need to be added to the clipart gallery.
The fill gallery will not recognise the file type which should be .XAR. Fill gallery only recognises bitmaps (JPG,PNG etc.). The instruction in the XaraXone refer to fills.
You can use a brush just by opening the XAR file - this automatically adds it (temporarily) to the new brushes section of the line gallery.

Thank you all for the help, I have found that I can add them using the "line Gallery".
Thanks again,

Hmmm, come to think of it that does sound logical!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Maybe Charles should rename it to say Line & Brush Gallery??

Duh... I might have figured that out, and I do not even use brushes. Come on you brush masters, what happened?
Oh I know... A bad hair day...
Too much hair in your brush? http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
