I was browsing my hard drive and found this. I didn't remember posting it so I thought (ouch!) I might as well do it now. If you've seen it before - you have a better memory than me.
Hopefully someone will find it interesting. The circular and eliptical fills are set up as the 'repeating' type with the arrow pulled narrow to get the line like repeats. 'Profiles' can be used to get a crisper line-like effect.

you want to have some good clean fun with moire effects try this. It uses a java applet to allow you to interactively generate moire effects.
Another site (a super cool one!) is here. It is the same site that has all the Microscopy pics. (Remember I obtained the creators permission for the Xara community to use those images in derivative works. Our posting of any such image requires an acknowledgement of the site).

happening here so far. Please feel free to jump in and interrupt my talking to myself.
I thought I'd play with moire effects a bit and created this seamless tiling texture. It reminded me that there used to be a website with design advice on how to make a website that sucks. It was a very clever site. In the spirit of it I'd like to recommend my tile be used as a background tile for your website. It will look wonderful!

Far out and groovy Ross.
Reminds me of the psychedellic art of the late 60s. I can just hear the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Jimmy Hendrix rocking out.
