this is not Xara stuff. My ability to click links in my emails has suddenly stopped. When I click on one IE6 comes up blank but without the link in the address, if I ctrl C and then paste it works but not from the link itself. Is there some option to tick to allow this to happen....thanks Taojones
PS this is the only place I could think of asking

Have you tried rebooting? Wackie behaviours often disappear upon such rebooting.

Ross, I have tried re-booting physically and turning it off, but no go. Maybe I have picked up some dreaded lurky virus that lives off links...yuck Tao

What is your email program? It could be in its setting.

I just saw this problem mentioned not long ago. Seems to me it had something to do with a faulty critical update from the Windows Update site.
Did you happen to just do some updating?
Mike

I know this is of no help, but I had that same problem before. I think it was realted to some update or something as Mike has mentioned.

it is fixed thanks. I reloaded IE6 and it sorted itself out. I think maybe netscape when I was a checking to see if a web site worked in it defaulted itself as my browser. This stopped my email in outlook working its links....thank you one and all Roger

I've had this problem a couple of times now.
I have found that the easiest way to sort the problem out is to set my default browser to be Netscape (by answering YES to the Netscape nag screen when it loads), then rebooting my PC, and loading IE. It spots it's no longer the default browser (even though when it was, it didn't act like it was!), and once you grant it permission to take over the baton, it'll behave fine.
I've you've already told Netscape to stop pleading to be the default browser, do a search for the file prefs.js on your hard drive. When you find it (the copy in your Netscape directory, if you have more than one), open it into Notepad.
Look for the line user_pref("browser.wfe.ignore_def_check", true); and replace true with false. Save, close, load Netscape, say Yes, and then carry on from the top.
