M&R with Movie 3D
I've downloaded and have been trying AIST Movie 3D.
Basically this is a short version of RealSoft 3D.
The SDS modelling is great among other things.
At 300 euros/dollars, although not easy to start with I believe this one to be a worth trying application.

Gary,
Try at www.aist.com, look for Movie 3D download.
Or go to www.realsoft3d.com and download the
"mother" program. Has I explained Movie 3D is a "ligth" version of RealSoft.
Here:
www.pcplus.co.uk/media/pcplus/pdf/184/ 184.review.aist%20movie%203d.pdf
you find a review between both apps.
The subdivision modelling is superb that I can confirm you and also implements nurbs and other high end features. RealSoft rendering engine is more powerfull (more features).
Cheers

(Em--you had a spare comma in the link above. Sorry! I fixed it Gary--)

Ok, so you pop up a cube on the screen... what next... Is there smart highlighting for face/edge/verts? ... how does one manipulate a square in subdivide, like say make a general head shape with nose eye areas etc...... can you assign by color to select... does it have loop tools for poly modeling or is every thhing handled through sud cage like manipulation?
Would you care to share in how one would model out from a cube.. ?
thanks in advance Emel http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

ha, playing around with the subd tools now, and... hey, much along the same lines as the biezer approach in Strata in the magnet molding sort of fashion, and then I considered who brought these apps to our attention and had a chuckle... good find here emel... thanx, I am truly enjoying some experimenting with this approach to boxing things out... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
keep us posted with your updates here... looking way cool...
