Pro+ problems with page length
I’ve done 3 sites now with Pro+ and find a consistent problem. Page length. Some pages are fine ending where they should, others end up with the dreaded blank space after the footer. I’m not using any kind of auto fit on any site, same page size is left unchecked. There is no special background on the page, usually just a coloured background on the page.
Since the page layer always contains a rectangle, I’m wondering if it’s just the adjustment of the rectangle on many of the pages.
You’ll find the problem consistent on the following sites. The problem is not on every page of the sites, just on a few. I’m stumped.

Any ideas please float my way, and my thanks in advance.

Bill, I found one example in http://www.billwood.ca/indigenous%20peoples.htm.
The code behind has a min-height for the page of 2287px.
This will force the page to be longer.
The page has a DIV with a height of 2287px, which clearly is the item forcing the length of the page.
I don't know its purpose but it has a overflow setting of hidden.
So it might be you have something very long on the page so untick Multiple Page view, select all and see if you have an oveshoot.
It is quite possible that Xara has introduced min-height in a recent release and it did not check enough cases to prove it was working.
I spend most of the morning redesigning a site's widget to hit the same grief so I was forced to revert to something that worked. Quite a wasted day.
In my case, I have a Placeholder with <img> for 9 images 256 px high in a HTML list so the notional placeholder depth would be 2400px.
I had CSS to place these side-by side so I set a Placeholder height of 256px but Xara may be adding in all the other heights regardless.
From your experience, I now know to add an in-line style of overflow: hidden; to a wrapping DIV, but boy I do hope I'm wrong as this is going (again) to muck up prior sites should I re-publish them.

Hi Bill,
Apologies, this should be fixed shortly.
Thanks

Thanks Rob - this wasn't happening before so must be a recent. I'll await the fix. In the meantime @acorn I'll check my pages. Thanks Acorn.

Rob, I thought as I had spend the time trying to determine that it was not just one person, you might have acknowledged or corrected my analysis. I seem to fire off lots of Dear Xaras, without any sign of them being noted; Bill's problem has a reply and an promised fix in record time.
There are quite a few bug reports around the last release with no Xara response.
As I said I had a wasted half-day on some client work and do not think much of buggy releases at the best of times.

This TG thread was forwarded to me from someone, but was also an issue that was already logged and being fixed. Unfortunately due to other duties I don't get to spend as much time as I'd like in the forums, so if you have any bugs you'd like to report it's normally best to send them directly via Intercom or email and I'll take a look.
Re: Pro+ problems with page length
OK Rob, I can do that. The problem is many TGers expect the Dear Xara Forum to suffice. Intercom is point-to-point. Only one person gains, not the community. It is far easier for a company to attrit away a corpus of concerns with no one the wiser. TG and TGers are your greatest asset.

Rob, I understand that you personally have reasons to ask for bug reports to be sent via channels outside of TG but that is not the right way to interact with the TG community.
