Try studying a real paper bag photo. Look at the lighting and shadows then draw your shapes accordingly making use of feathering and transparencies.
It shouldn't be too hard.
TG can help you with the techniques and show bitmap image examples if you like :)
Hi sylvan.
Here's first my attempt.
Used fractal plazma fills and fractal clouds fills and feathering and linear transparencies.
I think I got a passable result.
Looks good Rik, just needs a French loaf sticking out the top ;)
Here is a quick tutorial showing one method to create a paper bag.
Rik,
I compared your work with mine. I prefer yours. I can't use your system as I have xara xtreme, not the pro version. My original title was 'Bag challenge'. I wonder I it got changed to 'How do I draw a paper bag'!
Sylvan the fill types that Rik used are available in the non Pro version of Xtreme.
Well, I couldn't manage a French loaf but though I would have another go!
This time I used a crease fill from the Fill Gallery.
:)
Here is a quick and dirty attempt using Xara Xtreme 5.1 (non-Pro version).;)
Here is my attempt on paper bag, drew with the freehand tool from mind, objects cloned and applyed linear Stained glass transparency to clones.
