I just tried to import a 150dpi bmp (tif/jpg/gif) file into Xara2 to add some additional graphics. The image looks great in any image viewer but after importing it into Xara2 it looks plain awful. It has been resized and fine graphics on it (or text) now have large pixels.
I've done these sort of things a few times in Xara2 and never had any problems like this, but now i'm really stuck. Any ideas anyone ?
Thanks !

Similar things happen to me, but it is usually when I import webgraphics, and I noticed the following thing:
Imported pics look grainy and pixelized (in other word, awfull). But the webpics have usually 72 dpi resolution and Xara imports them as 96 dpi resolution pics.
My solution to MY problem was that I resized the pics to 75%
You said your pic has 150 dpi res, and Xara made it smaller and uglier. What about resizing it to about 175%
It is just a theory.

I think Paul's on the right track. If you import a bitmap file (bmp, tiff, jpg, png) that contains embedded dpi information or a gif via the clipboard (the source program may add dpi even though gif doesn't support it), Xara will use the value to display the image. You must either resize it on the page or remember to export at the same resolution to avoid a loss of quality.

Thanks Paul and Sean !
You are absolutely right - the image comes with dpi information of 150 dpi and Xara scales it to 96 dpi. By resizing the image to 156,25% (15000/96)i get the perfect original back.
