Re: Tricks for Calligraphy?
You could start with a thin rounded rectangle a 450 angle and make it as a Scatter Brush.
Then edit the Rotation to remove Rotate along pah and resave.
Craft your prose and possibly apply Smoothing or even Convert Line to Shape to reduce the jaggies.

Re: Tricks for Calligraphy?
Thanks, I didn't think to use scatter, I just thought 'art brush, cause it's an art tool!' lol Much appreciated, exactly what I needed!

you may also need to adjust spacing

[it is called unnamed brush in the file]
Re: Tricks for Calligraphy?
... you can also use the shape builder tool for this adjusting the roundness and angle accordingly - you will of course then get a shape not a line, but can be useful - ok re-reading I see you have got there already :D

Haven't looked at what you made just yet, but this is my result thus far and 95% exactly what I was trying to figure out how to do! :)

GJ, great.
For those with only XWD(P), remember there is a free XDPXv5 available with Scatter Brushes for you to enjoy.
