Mask Using Eliptic tool in Pro9
Hi,
Its been a while since I used the elliptic tool in pro 7 and 8
I have tried to use the same effect in Pro 9 however when I create the mask over the photo and then select the elliptic tool to select the area I want, I loose the mask.
I have watched several videos from Angelize showing how to select the quiche on a plate. But I am looking to select a accurate circle to mask so need to use the elliptic tool.
Any ideas or has that feature gone.
Thanks
Fizzygas

Do you need to use a mask? How about if you clone the image, create your circle on this, select both and do ctrl+3? Or put the circle behind the clone, select both and press Q. Then you have the original image to work on and the circle with image too.

Good one! Glad to help :)
Re: Mask Using Eliptic tool in Pro9
The Mask tools work differently in version 9. V9 now has a mask and region painter tool but it is still possible to use any of the drawing tools to create a mask or region. To create the elliptical mask:
1) create an ellipse with the ellipse tool and position it on your photo over the area that you want to mask. Ctrl+X to cut the ellipse to the clipboard.
2) select the photo and ctrl+shift+V to paste the mask in place.

Hi Angelize,
Thanks to you both for helping resolve the problem.
What a brilliant forum this is.
I am sure a lot of users appreciate what you both do.
