I can't figure out how to export selected object
Probably the thing I do most is making little items and exporting them to jpeg or gif or whatever.
Corel has a "selection only" button on the export screen which worked....I mean when it worked.
All I can find in the help files is exporting the whole file or exporting "slices" which I don't understand what that means but I don't think that's what I want.
How do I select an image that isn't the whole file and export it?
Thanks
W
Re: Okay, here's one I can't figure out....
There's an option 'Selection' in the export dialog under "Bitmap Size"...
Re: Okay, here's one I can't figure out....
simply click select what you want to export [shift+click to compound] and then 'export' from the file menu [or ctrl+shift+e]
in the export dialog box there are other options - but 'export selection' is the default for .jpg/gif/png
some file types eg .pdf work differently....
Re: Okay, here's one I can't figure out....
let me add to that last post - if anything is within the boundary of what you select - that will be exported too, whether selected or not
Re: Okay, here's one I can't figure out....
Oh, you're kidding...
It says "export file"....silly me, I thought it meant export file....

well it does export a file, but that file contains what you tell it to as such..:D
hope this is clear [always causes confusion]

I don't think that is strictly true. Look at exporting PNG with transparency, for example. You only export the items that are selected. Anything overlapping is not included.

select the yellow box only in this file and export it ;)
Re: Okay, here's one I can't figure out....
Sorry Steve,
when using png with alpha it exports only the yellow box.
