A tip that's maybe common knowledge for some, but I made a little clip showing a way to create the necessary shapes in order to add colour to a line drawing. Rather than creating all the shapes individually.
Handy tip that can save time.

Neat! I knew about how to fill unclosed shapes but hadn't thought of the contour tool to 'tidy up' (mostly because I don't think about the contour tool very much at all I suppose :D ). Much appreciated tip - thanks Bob.
PS Traffic noise not as good a backing track as the music in your last video :p
Wow, thank you. That is awesome and very helpful. I would have spent the time making shapes for every piece.
I would of done the same thing too, but after a while I begin to think that there's got to be a quicker way. Until a working fill tool is created, this seems to do the trick.
Well, clip was already worth making.
Traffic noise as backing track not as good as big band music. Got it. :)
Thanks, Bob.

ASIDE:
If the process is basically repeating certain steps, it would seem a computer program could be programmed to at least repeat those steps or series of sub-steps.

I think those are called macros, aren't they?
Cheers for the video Bob, it's always fun to watch how different people use Xtreme.
One thing that puzzles me though is why do you use a 1 step contour instead of using inset path?
Great tutorial Bob!
I would suggest one optimisation. After you had applied 1 step contour, you can use "Inset Path" button.
Edit: the same thing was suggested by Egg, I just hadn't noticed it. :o
that's a good explanation of the technique Bob - thanks
personally speaking - if you inset path then AFAIK you make the change permanent - if you leave it as a contour you can tweak it further later on...
so it depends on what is to happen next, which to choose...
