MenuMaker doesn't seem to work in Windows 7
Hi,
I realise this is not quite the right forum for this but there is no forum for MenuMaker it seems. Probably because it is so old.
I have been using it for many years without problems, but I'm currently building a new website and I find that for some reason the Menu Maker menu looks fine loads up fine but the links don't work. Not one button in a 9 button menu will take me to the designated page.
It is the first website I have built on a new windows 7 computer. I wondered if there might be some bug in the system.
The thing is, all the sites I have built using MM for the menus in previous versions of Windows all work in Win 7. It is just this new site.
Although I have used MM about 18 times in the past, I have rechecked all the instructions and can not see anywhere I have might have slipped up.
Anyone with any ideas? Some help would be much appreciated.
Regards BillyWill
Re: MenuMaker doesn't seem to work in Windows 7
Hi BillyWill, welcome to Talkgraphics.
Can you provide a link to a page where we can see how the navbar has been implemented?
There is a MenuMaker forum that is a subforum of this Webstyle forum.

Hi Bill,
Thank you for your reply, it is much appreciated.
The site is now up at
http://www.cq-light-horse.org.au/
You will probably find I have made some silly blunder somewhere.
I have only just begun construction, so there is nothing much there yet.
Looking forward to hearing from you. I hope... =D>

Hi Bill,
Thank you for your reply, it is much appreciated
After writing the reply above I went back to work and went back through everything for the umpteenth time. Again and again.
Then it hit me.
I managed to sort the problem. You won't believe how stupid some people can be.
I have been so used to building sites that end in ".com.au" I forgot that this site was a ".org.au" and that was all that was wrong with it.
I had put all the page addresses as ,com,au instead of .org.au.
Can you imagine how stupid I felt. I had wasted the best part of two days going round in circles.
But the story didn't end there. I came back here to post another message to tell you I had found the problem, so you wouldn't waste time on it.
But the Forum Login kept telling me I had a wrong password. I knew it was right, I had carefully copy and pasted it. There were no blanks or spaces.
Eventually I used up my 5 tries so I had to wait 15 minutes before retrying it. So I waited my 15 minutes and still no luck.
So I asked for a RESET. The Reset password final arrived and would you believe, it wouldn't work.
I closed the browser down and restarted again. Still no success. So I closed everything down and went and had tea.
I came back and success. Apparently the system didn't close down properly each time I tried.
Thanks for you interest it was very much appreciated. But sorry I sent you on a wild goose chase.
I will also look in on the MenuMaker sub forum. I didn't realise that it existed. I figured this one was the closest to MM.
Have a good weekend and again Many Thanks.
Kind Regards
BillyWill
Re: MenuMaker doesn't seem to work in Windows 7
BillyWill I'm glad you have sorted the problem.
I have intermittantly had problems accessing the forums. At one time it was identified as an issue during the server backup procedure, although that was a couple of years ago. Possibly a recurrence or a new issue altogether.
