What he's saying is that, generally, bitmaps will be replaced with bitmaps, but shapes won't.Quote:

Actually, having tested it...
If a bitmap is covered by a shape which is at all transparent, then that appears to Xara as if you're dropping the new bitmap fill onto the original bitmap. And so that will replace the original bitmap with the new one.
You have to try it to see!
