Re: Linking to another site
Right click on the link on the Sproxton site and select Copy Link Location. This gives you the whole address.
Re: Linking to another site
Thanks, Gary.
I wonder why I hadn't read that somewhere!

Re: Linking to another site
Just an observation. It is not wise to show email addresses on web pages. They are likely to be harvested by email crawlers and the next thing you know is that you receive loads of spam emails.
Re: Linking to another site
Good point Miko
If you link text, for example Send E-Mail with the actual e-mail address, Xara will encode the e-mail address in the HTML document to hide the address until the visitor clicks the link, at which point the visitor's e-mail program will open automatically.
Re: Linking to another site
Interesting point about email addresses on web sites.
I have had my email address on the Sproxton site for about 20 years now, ever since I started writing it using MS Word and saving the pages as HTML. What a horrid system that was. I then used EasyWebEditor for about 15 years before I moved on to Xara WD and then Designer Pro.
In all that time I have never found myself getting a load of spam. Mind you, I have used Gmail since June 2005 and that is pretty good at dealing with spam. I feel myself hard done by if one spam a month appears in my Inbox!

Re: Linking to another site
However, I should not be cavalier with other people's email addresses so I will remove the actual email addresses from the High Framland pages and replace them with "Email" and link with the proper email address as Gary says.

Re: Linking to another site
Here's another tip
after you enter the email address you can add ?subject=Subject Copy
Replace subject copy with what you want the Subject of the email to say. For example ?subject=Feedback from Highframland.com
So when your visitor clicks the link to Send E-Mail, their email application opens and the subject automatically reads Feedback from Highframland.com
BTW is that a typo? It seems like it should be highfarmland.com
Re: Linking to another site
That's a useful tip, thanks.
It really is meant to be High Framland. The explanation is on the first proper page of the site which is at www.highframland.org.uk
