Need help making diamonds
I am trying to make some diamonds for a logo. I have working on it for hours and some suggestions and direction.
I want the diamonds to glow and I cannot figure out how to do it in Xara. I tried to use brushes, but could not get a "glow" that looked realistic.
Any and all advice would be appreciated. If it makes a difference, I am using Designer Pro 7.
Thanks!!

Re: Need help making diamonds
Two quick and easy methods of obtaining a glow are to either use the shadow tool and apply a glow shadow you can adjust the sliders to adjust the amount of transparency or blur and you can drag the shadow inward or out ward to also adjust the shadow, then there is the profile sliders (click the arrow icon on the infobar to open the profile dialogue box)
Another quick method is to put a larger copy of the diamond (complete with shading) centered directly behind the original and give it a large amount of feathering.

Welcome to TalkGraphics, webdude. Nice to have you with us. :)
You've made a good start on the diamonds. In addition to the glows that angelize suggested, notice how she set up her gradients. The light source is clear, so the facets stand out rather than recede.

Thank you so much Allison and Angelize!
I wound up making a larger image of the diamond > combined shapes > applied transparency > applied featuring.
It needs more work and I doing that now. This is what I have so far.
Thanks again for the suggestions. You have saved me lots of time.
