Re: Extending line problem
Hello Peter,
I have split this post off the other thread and given this a thread of it's own for discussing this issue :)

You must have the 'Shape Tool' and an end node selected to extend a line length (not width) when entering the value on the info bar.
Re: Extending line problem
No you don't. Well, not in XDP. But then, I don't know where this thread originated and so don't know which application is being discussed. I just swap to the Selector Tool (V) and type in a new value. Make sure the Lock Aspect Ratio padlock is in the up position.
Take care, Mike
Re: Extending line problem
This thread originated in another Dear Xara thread discussing XDP so I would assume that is the version being discussed.

Not for me, doesn't work like this in any of my installed Designer Pro's, Mike (6 or 7). Desktop or Laptop PC.
It used to work like this in Xtreme 4 and 5 (aspect lock on or off).
Re: Extending line problem
I see the issue.
When using the selector tool (V) the 'H' is shown as a zero value. If you enter '1' for the height value before entering your new length, then Xara is happy (the 'H' value returns to zero once the new length is set). Leave it at zero and the error message shows.
This step isn't required if you use the method I described in post #3

Re: Extending line problem
Not required here.

Is what it looks like here.
Attachment 88432
Is after I type in a value.
Take care, Mike
Re: Extending line problem
Ah yes, Mike. That's because you must have 'scale lines widths' toggled on (down)
Not sure what is default, but all my installations seem do have SLW toggled off (up) - even with WD MX Premium.
I think this solves the mystery :)
Re: Extending line problem
FYI Scale Line Width is on by default.
