Has anyone tried this before? I was attempting to figure out how to do Michael Ward's "The People's Choice" post in the Xara Gallery (Michael, how did you make your fractal fill "curve" to the shape of the sphere?).
Anyway:
Object A. A square. A Fractal Plasma fill, white to red. 395 dpi and FRACTAL SCALE of ONE!
Object B. This is a copy of Object A, turn it into a bitmap, apply a Circular Envelop.
Also try this. Select Object A, then from the Fill pull-down list click on Fractal Plasma again. Continue doing this a half a dozen times or so. Each click will change the degree of contrast between red and white.

This time two squares, one with a blue fractal and the other with a red fractal. Rotate one square 90 degrees. Give them a little bit of a stained glass transparency and blend them.

Michael, thanks for the quick and thorough reply! So, basically it is the Blending that achieves the "spherical" form of the fractal "texture". Very, clever.

Hi Michael,
I'm stuck on step 17.
Also on Step 16. you state "Set the centre of the transparency to 100% and the outside to 40%. How do I do this?? I am confused. I didn't know I had control over the inner and outer transparency. Is this how you acieved the black along the outer rim instead of the middle???
Still learning and loving it.
