Re: Franco Security simbol
does it matter if there are so small details?
i mean maybe it could be simpler... it of course depends whow this logo will be used
but if it's gona be something like 3..5 cm these details will disappear
anyway logo as is looks good
Re: Franco Security symbol
The logo looks great capellan.
Re: Franco Security symbol
Many thanks Gray and Pixel for
your kind comments. :o
Pixel, you are right.
An early lesson in design is:
Do not put more detail than needed
in any area of your design.
The work of Movie Matte Painters
are an excelent example of this
golden rule.
This logo will be used at different
sizes, but as everybody noticed,
to use this simbol in really big sizes,
some parts have to be redraw and
replaced.
For now, it works fine.
Later, i will need to redraw
some parts.
Re: Franco Security symbol
I like it!:D
Another thing to keep in mind is how it will look in black & white, adding to Pixel's point. Like on letterhead, or FAX etc. (Sorry if I'm telling you stuff you already know!);)
Re: Franco Security symbol
Minor detail (or opinion :( ) why is the sword upside down? In any given stance (unless you are battling a dragon while lying on your back) wouldn't your "hand-guard-thingy" be facing down? Having the "guard" facing down also gives a more "compact" logo (a bit less wasted space on the right-hand side).

Re: Franco Security symbol
Might I suggest something else. (By the way, I love the drawing.) A different scenario might be to have the gun and sword in front of the blue part of the shield, but behind everything else, something like below (crudely done). I can see that turning the handle upside down would move the entire sword up and perhaps out of the nice diagonal.
Re: Franco Security symbol
imho drifter's idea looks quite well

Hi Drifter! :)
I like the way how you reorganized the layering of
the gun and sword. The owner will have the last
word about using this really nice version.
About the handle of the sword, you are right.
Turning the handle, will move it out of the diagonal. :D
Many thanks to all of you who have taken time
to review and post about this design. :o
